- Project Lead the Way Grant (June 15, 2026): Exciting News for Assumption Academy! We are thrilled to announce that Assumption Academy has been awarded a grant to implement Project Lead The Way (PLTW) for the upcoming school year! This incredible opportunity will allow our students to engage in hands-on, project-based learning experiences that foster creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Through the PLTW Engineering curriculum, students will explore real-world challenges while developing skills in design, innovation, and technology that will prepare them for future academic and career success. We are grateful for this grant and excited to expand our STREAM offerings as we continue our mission of providing an exceptional Catholic education that inspires curiosity, excellence, and lifelong learning. - Assumption Named ParentPulse Parent Choice Award Winner for 2023-24 (June 2024) Assumption Academy in Broadview Heights, Ohio, has been awarded a prestigious 2023-24 Parent Choice Award by ParentPulse, a third-party provider that administers surveys for more than 130 private and independent schools in the United States.
- Assumption Celebrates Being Named a Purple Star School by Ohio Department of Education (April 2023) The Ohio Department of Education recently recognized Assumption Academy with an Ohio Purple Star School designation for its commitment to serving military-connected students and families. To celebrate, students held a “Purple Up Rally” to celebrate and recognize military children currently attending the school.
- Assumption Awarded Grant for Campus Security (January 2023): Assumption Academy has been awarded a grant for security upgrades that enhance the safety of students and staff.
- Assumption & Local Catholic Schools Shine During Pandemic (November 2022): Assumption Academy faculty and staff worked diligently to be sure that our students received the best possible education during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with other area Catholic schools.
- Assumption Students Raise Funds for Sister School in Haiti (May 30, 2021): Assumption Academy students set out to raise funds for their sister school in Noyau, Haiti – they started small. It was a simple concept of a penny “war” against classrooms, with pennies and bills earning positive points and silver coins earning negative points.
- Pieces of Assumption History Found (February 29, 2020): As visitors enter the Assumption Family Center, you are greeted by beautiful framed spiritual imagery of stained glass windows, doves, our Blessed Mother and Pope Francis. But if you look closer, you’ll see the images aren’t quite what they seem.
- Assumption named top organization 2nd year in a row (January 6, 2020): Assumption raised the most in the Diocese of Cleveland for the 2nd year of a row as part of the annual weGiveCatholic Campaign on Giving Tuesday.
- Viking AM crew takes the airwaves Assumption Academy (September 9, 2019): Almost a year to the day after the Kathleen Cochrane DePiero Broadcast Studio was dedicated in North Royalton, a second broadcast studio and learning commons were blessed and dedicated at Assumption Academy in Broadview Heights.
- Liturgy, visit from bishop mark a new beginning for Assumption Academy (August 21, 2019): The first day of school was special for the 150 students who attend Assumption Academy in Broadview Heights. The school offers grades K-8 and began a new pre-school program this year.
- Students raise $18,000 with 2nd annual Fun Run (May 24, 2019): The money raised will support new technology for next school year.
- Five Compelling Advancements Announced Via Town Hall (March 7, 2019): Partnership between two suburban Roman Catholic schools quickly exceeding expectations, indicating success for the first-of-its-kind educational endeavor.
- Assumption Academy Students Support Childhood Cancer (August 16, 2018): The students participated in a special program sponsored by Fox8 Fox Trot Run, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, and were featured live during the newscasts. The students raised a total of $632.01.
- Assumption Academy Raises $13,000 with Inaugural Fun Run (May 30, 2018): Assumption Academy hosted its first-ever “Fun Run” powered by Boosterthon with a primary objective to raise funds supporting a highly anticipated playground project.
